Super Bowl Sunday 1

Watch all the action of Super Bowl Sunday on a “Big Screen" at Griffin Tavern in Flint Hill on Sunday, Feb. 1 at a Super Bowl Party from 6 p.m. til late. Complimentary buffet and Griffin Wings are at half price.

Community Drum Circle

Everyone is invited to a Community Drum Circle at Hearthstone School on Sunday. Feb. 1, from 3 to 5 p.m. All ages are welcome. No experience is necessary. Bring drums, percussion instruments and “found sounds." Suggested donation: $2 for use of the school building which is on Route 211, two miles west of Sperryville.

Conservation meeting

The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District will hold a Board of Directors’ meeting on Feb. 3 in Madison at the War Memorial Building, second floor at 9:30 a m. Meetings rotate alphabetically by the five counties served by the district: Culpeper, Greene. Madison. Orange and Rappahannock. For more information, call 825-8591.

Free Clinic open

The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local branch of the Fauquier Free Clinic operates on the first, third and fifth Wednesdays of each month at the Rappahannock County Health Department in Washington. Candidates for President

On Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. at the Madison Presbyterian Church on Route 29 at Fishback Road, the candidates for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States (or their representatives) will address the audience. The Forum is sponsored by the Madison County Democratic Committee. Admission is free but come early as seating is limited.

Epicurious Cow sampling

There will be free samples of champagne, sparkling wines, chocolate tarts, triple cream cheeses, chocolate dipped strawberries and passion fruit sorbet at the Epicurious Cow on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 2 to 6 p.m. The llamas of West Wind Farm will show off their talents. Documentary Cf discussion

A provocative documentary video dealing with the War in Iraq will be shown on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. at The Theatre on Gay Street in Washington. Following the video presentation there will be discussion and refreshments. The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee invites all interested citizens to attend. Teens are encouraged. Admission is free.
