man charged
with taking
indecent
liberties
General District Court Judge Charles B. Foley ordered Ellis H. Smith, 55, of Castleton held without bond last week on charges of taking indecent liberties with a child under 14 years of age.
Smith was charged with six felony counts of indecent exposure, enticement and taking indecent liberties after an investigation by social service workers and the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office.
The charges stemmed from two events, according to Rappahannock County Sheriff Larry Sherertz, that were reported to members of the child’s family on Jan. 14. The family in turn contacted social service workers and they
