“And this is the perfect spot— we’re in the middle of a 3,000-acre cow field,” she added with a laugh.
The store, which has been open for two-and-one-half years, has become a mecca for those wanting distinctive produce and items that aren’t available elsewhere.
“We’ve gotten very well-established,” Lehman said. “Some people use us as a French market. They come in every day to get their food. We’ve got an incredible selection of cheeses, wines, fruit, vegetables and natural meats.”
She started pulling items off the shelves and out of the coolers to demonstrate what Epicurious Cow has to offer. She plucked out a piece of Angus steak, organically produced, that was as soft as butter.
“And we have duck breast, duck bacon, buffalo burgers, wild salmon in season,” she said.
Then she explained that, while it might seem like the store’s in the middle of nowhere, that’s just an illusion.
“We’re six miles from the Inn at Little Washington, so we’re in the middle of a very ‘food’ area,” she said. “We don’t get many people coming out
