Daily activities will include games and songs, hiking, dambuilding in the Hazel River, catching and releasing wild animals, caring for flowers and trees, and producing a camp newspaper.
The campers will explore the forests, meadows, rivers and ponds of the Singing Creek property and surrounding areas, including the Shenandoah National Park which is within walking distance.
The camp’s home base is on the Hazel River, two miles west of Route 231. Daily activities will focus on insects, snakes, amphibians, trees, gardens, water life and wild animals.
Mark your calendars now. Camp will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday - Friday, June 21 to July 2, with one overnight campout. Because of generous support from RLEP and many individual donors, tuition is only $125 for the two weeks and there are scholarships available.
