Connie DelGrosso daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony DelGrosso of Flint Hill was awarded second place honors in the Virginia Pork Photo Contest, sponsored by the Virginia Pork Industry Commission. Connie’s photo of five little piggies staring wide-eyed and pointyeared at the camera was printed in the January issue of Country Life magazine and the February issue of the Porcine. In addition, she shared in cash prizes that totaled $200. A special meeting of the Rappahannock School Board approved the proposed 1979-80 school budget after first making substantial cuts in the superintendent’s recommendations. Superintendent William Bloomer informed the board at the close of the budget meeting that he’d received final word on sales tax revenues Rappahannock could expect from the state. According to latest news from the state, Rappahannock will get a minimum of $226,203.
