For the third consecutive year the Rappahannock. County High School Panthers have won the Bull Run District J.V. Girls’ Softball Championship. This year the Panthers defeated the Strasburg Rams 6-2 at Strasburg on May 27.
The game pitted the top two teams in the Bull Run District in a winner take all play-off. Strasburg finished the regular season, one game ahead of the Panthers, with a 9-1 record. Ram’s coach Bruce Hall, always known as a class act, decided to call it a career after the championship game.
Jessica Lee led off the second inning with a walk and came around to score to give the Panthers the early 1-0 lead.
