Vacation Bible School will be held at the Forest Grove Ministries and Activities Center (Old Forest Grove School House) from July 5 through July 9.
Bring your children to enjoy this fun time. This year, the VBS theme is Japan and church members have already started decorating the interior of the schoolhouse with lots of cherry blossoms, oriental screens, and yes, a model of Mt. Fuji.

Local history
Concerning some local history, we would Uke to give a brief report on a World War 11 government program that enabled German POWs to work on local farms.
During the war, regular German POWs were held at the Remount Station near Front Royal. This installation was on the right, off Route 522, just before the town limits. According to several people we interviewed in our neighborhood, select prisoners would be loaded on to the back of canvasscovered army trucks early on workday mornings and trucked to Massies Comer in Rappahannock.
