Hearthstone School in Sperryville will hold a “Garage Sale/Bake Sale” on January 29 to raise funds for tsunami relief.
“With the funds raised, we are planning to make a donation to an orphanage in Sri Lanka which was destroyed but where the orphans were saved.” said Hearthstone’s Jane Mullan. “The children wanted to reach out and help these less fortunate children who have neither home nor parents.”

In his Sunday sermon at the Washington Baptist Church on January 2, Rev. Phil Bailey urged his congregation to remember the victims in a moment of silence and then asked that they donate to the charity of their choice to help in this great time of need.
According to Rev. Bailey, the church’s annual “Variety Show,” scheduled for February 5 at The Theatre in Little Washington, will collect donations specifically earmarked for the tsunami victims in Southeast Asia.
