According to Sheriff Larry Sherertz, all dispatchers currently employed by the Sheriff’s Department are fire and rescue trained.
Sherertz said that he has listened to the tape of the call that came in from Marsha Nichols, and he does not feel that the dispatcher coded the call incorrectly.
“The caller was not clear what type of injuries were involved. The dispatcher did a good job with that call,” said Sherertz.
Sherertz added, “If something is dispatched improperly, we will deal with it. But that was not the case here.”
