English. “The classes are challenging but I like that because it prepares you for college,” said Devin. While she plans to attend a fouryear college, Devin said she is currently unsure what major she wants to pursue. Also involved in the school’s Art Club, Devin explained how she and her classmates recently participated in “Chalk it Up Day” which involved drawing with chalk on the school’s sidewalks. “I really enjoy the club,” said Devin who also participated in the school’s “Empty Bowls,” fund raiser. In addition, Devin recently won first place in the Lord Fairfax Community College Expressions Contest in High School Art. Devin has spent her entire educational career in the public school system and said, “the teachers have been very supportive and I have made some good friends.” Devin’s hobbies include playing softball with the Piedmont Softball Association, and reading and learning in general. She is currently reading The Philosophy of Andy Warhol.
