Mauck said in an interview last week, adding that his dream began when he had a youth football coach who was a Virginia State trooper.
Although Mauck has not been extremely familiar with Rappahannock County, he feels that this area shares a lot of similarities with Page County.
Having grown up in neighboring Page County, Mauck enjoys hunting, fishing, playing football, sports and is a member of the Stanley Fire Department.
“I just want to be seen as a nice guy who takes mv job seriously,” the new trooper said.
In taking his new post seriously, Mauck will be watching for speeders, equipment violators and will be watching for reckless driving by motorcycles, especially crossing the mountain areas.
