tools, and half finished projects, and I really need to get out there and build a workbench and sort through the clutter, and fix up a workshop. But, somehow, I’ve been able to put that off with few negative consequences, except for the occasional scowl from my bride.
“Gittter done”
I used to make lists, and categorize and prioritize projects and “honey do” wishes, etc. Then, I discovered a marvelous thing: I don’t have to do that anymore. At least, not to the extent that I once did. As long as I maintain a reasonable level of domestic harmony, I really can do just about what I want, when I want.
The current project on the “must do” list is how to install a wood stove in the basement, without an extra chimney or flue. I thought about sticking a stove pipe out the window, but my neighbor, Mrs. Lee, probably wouldn’t approve, and common sense and fire safety would also object. So, I’m sitting here at this keyboard wondering if I work that wood stove thing into the column, maybe some good Samaritan will call me or stop by and give me some ideas.
So, rainy days, what are they good for? Contemplation, rest and column writing, seem to work pretty well. Happy New Year, everyone. Have a great 2006.
