Loudoun County's Solid Waste Management
Performs a combination of Field support and indoor scalehouse duties to local government-owned Solid Waste Management Facility. Operates articulated truck. Hauls dirt on-site, vegetative waste, mulch, rubble, tires and gravel. Operates wheeled loader, tractor, mowing equipment, string trimmer and chain saw. Assists heavy equipment mechanic. Provides customer service in-person, phone or through e-mail. Operates truck scales at facility. Must have the physical ability to maintain scalehouse, truck scales and to remove snow. Records transactions in computer based accounts receivable system. Conducts daily cash receipts; and cash drawer closeouts; prepares Financial and operational reports; manages contracts; provides information to the public regarding waste disposal policies, facility locations and fees. Monitors video security system. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, e-mail, database experience, and construction/farm equipment experience preferred. Uniforms and safety shoes provided. Requires High School diploma or equivalent and four years of related experience or Associate's Degree or Technical School Diploma and two years related experience. CDL Class A required or must obtain within 6 months of hire. Bilingual English/Spanish desired. Must have the physical ability to routinely lift 70 lbs. Must have the ability to withstand extreme weather conditions.
