Loudoun County's Solid Waste Management

Two (2) positions to provides expert-level heavy equipment operation to local government-owned Solid Waste Management Facility. Maintains disposal area, soil borrow area, closure areas, and other facility sites according to approved grading plans. Must be experienced in reading grading plans and use of builders' level. Operates track/wheel loader, excavator, articulated truck, compactor, and water truck. Maintains and constructs disposal site, borrow site, roadways and erosion control by grading, shaping, seeding; and mulching; maintains and constructs storm water drainage structures. Ensures cut/fill grades according to plans. Hauls fill dirt on site. Assists with end-of-day waste cover operations. Performs daily maintenance on heavy equipment. Must be flexible to support other landfill operations and be available for rotating schedule of Mon-Fri and Tue-Sat from 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Uniforms and safety shoes provided. Requires High School diploma or equivalent and four years of related experience or Associate's Degree or Technical School Diploma and two years related experience. CDL Class A preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish desired. Must have the physical ability to routinely lift 80 lbs. Must have the ability to withstand extreme weather conditions.
