Position with the Department of Mental Retardation Services. Coordinates and provides nursing services for 5 group homes and supervises 1 medical counselor. Responsibilities include assessments and treatment planning, development and implementation of staff training and medical protocols, coordinating with physicians and other agencies, and assisting clients with medical appointments. Hours are flexible Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree and three years professional experience including six months of supervisory experience. Experience working with developmental^ disabled adults in a residential setting is preferred. A current Virginia RN license is required. Must be able to assist in the lifting and transferring clients during medical appointments. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal background check, driving record check, valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence and TB test.
