Why Not a White Pine? •
I am often called out to a property with the question “My white pine tree just turned brown, can you save it”? I dread this question, because the answer 1 have to give people is generally “No”.
White pine is subject to a greater . array of diseases than any other tree species in North America. This makes diagnosing the problem more difficult.
They may become stressed from drought, excessive heat, compacted soil, improper soil nutrients, air pollution as well as soil pathogens. Once these trees are weakened, generally secondary pests move in to finish the job.
