Jack Frazier and his paintings return to fill the Packing Shed Gallery with color and delight for the month of June, on the heels of his well received show a year and a half ago.
Since his retirement, the Amissville resident has developed quite a following with his vivid and distinctive abstract oil paintings which he characterizes has having “power and energy that is colorful and upbeat and jumps out.”
This large show of Mr. Frazier’s most recent work runs from June 1 through 26, with an Artist’s Reception on Sunday, June 4, 2-6 p.m.
He is a graduate of the National Art School in Washington, D.C., and has had a successful career as art director for several organizations moving on to develop governmental graphic presentations for several U.S. presidents, Congress, NATO, the Joint Chiefs of Staff" and others. Retirement has allowed him to pursue his passion of working with oils, and he has been exploring the power and energy of abstract expression since 2003.
He describes his approach to abstract painting as similar to a jazz musician playing a melody: “Distort it—tease it—seduce it—and finish it off with flair.”
