Herndon in the Civil War
The June dinner meeting of the Fauquier County CWRT will be on June 14 at the Fauquier Springs Country Club near Warrenton, VA. The evening starts at 6:30 pm, dinner is at 7:00 pm, and the program starts at 8:00 pm. All are invited to the meeting and you can come just for the program if you wish.
Mr. Chuck Mauro will be talking on “Herndon in the Civil War.”

Chuck Mauro is the author and photographer of Herndon, A Town and Its History and Herndon: A History in Images. Mr. Mauro will djscuss and show pictures regarding the Civil War in this Virginia town steeped in history. His talk will focus on Herndon’s Confederate spy, Miss Laura Ratcliff, and Confederate Partisan Ranger John Singleton Mosby’s St. Patrick’s Day raid on Herndon Station.
Mr. Mauro is also the writer and photographer of The Battle of Chantilly (Ox Hill), A Monumental Storm. Mr. Mauro is also the writer and co-producer for the movie The Battle of Chantilly (Ox Hill) with Bert Morgan of www.blmproductions.com
