Handmade
books on display
A group of handmade books will be on display at the Rappahannock County Library in Washington during the first half of June.
The books were produced during a weekend Bookmaking Workshop led by Alberta Zajack (Albie Smith), assisted by Ann Georgia McCaffray and held at Revival Springs Retreat for Creative Action in Spenyville. Workshop participants included Susan Abraham, Beau Caldwell, Jeanne Drevas, Wayne Jenkins, June Jordan, Toni McCaffray, Peg Schadler, Trista Scheuerlein, Barbara Heile Sherwood and Linda Tarry.
Stop by for a delightful, visual treat viewing these books. Library hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m . on Saturday.
A reminder for all Democrats. The monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at the Rappahannock County Library in Washington. A social time starts at 7 p.m. followed by the meeting ‘at 7:30 p.m. °
Annual DARE. Day
Let’s not forget the Annual D.A.R.E Day of festivities on Friday, June 2, held at the Rappahannock County Elementary School starting at 9 a.m. This is a day of education and fun for the whole family.
There will be exhibitors from organizations such as local fire departments, law enforcement personnel from Rappahannock County and surrounding areas. Let’s hope that the day will not be unrelentingly hot for everyone.
