in a very rural, poverty area where 60% of the population does not have an income and HIV-Aids is extreme. Their efforts are assisted by contributions from Trinity and Leeds Episcopal Church of Hume, Virginia, along with assistance from “Hands of Hope” in South Africa. The Mollinks have been serving and worshiping at Trinity since mid-April while The Reverend Jennings (Jenks) Hobson, III is on sabbatical. They will be departing for their Johannesburg home in mid-June. Light refreshments will be served after the discussion period. Shawl Ministry
Do you like to knit or crochet? Would you like to learn? Come and be a part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry, a group which lovingly creates shawls for those in their community that may be grieving, dealing with illness, or suffering from a loss, and also for those experiencing a joy such as a wedding or new baby. The Amissville United Methodist Women are sponsoring a local unit of this nationwide ministry which will be meeting on the first and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 9 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Contact Betty Jean Wheeler at 937-8251 or Sarah Boelte at 987-8819 for more information.
