On Saturday, Aug. 26, 64 Aileen former employees of the Aileen clothing plant, located just outside of Flint Hill got together at the Flint Hill Fire Department carnival grounds for a reunion and a picnic.
I had worked at the plant for about 20 years, from 1973 to 1993, starting out as a sewing machine operator and then moving into shipping. . There were smiles on everyones’ faces and hugs all around, as we compared notes on what we had been doing since the plant closed about 11 years ago. The building was was purchased by M.T. Ihiskar Construction Company, Inc. of Alexandria, awhile back, and is now being used for offices and storage.
