For some, it was “back to school” to continue their education before looking for a job. Others took the first job that came along.

We all agreed that we had jobs at the plant that we remembered with a certain fondness. We pushed themselves hard to make sure that orders were filled and were sent out on time, even if it meant working all day on Saturdays.

“We had our fusses, but we were like a big family,” one former employee remarked. “It really hurt when they closed the doors.”
