The Panthers lost their first official football season game, 0-27, to the Luray Bulldogs last Saturday.
The game was postponed from Friday because of the storm, playing it the following day at the Bulldog field in Luray. “I had hoped that we wouldn’t have any first game jitters.”
Varsity football Coach Kemp Pullen explained. “It was one of those nights when we weren’t concentrating.”
Pullen said that the defense performed at about what he had expected although they were a little nervous. “Most of my players don’t weigh more than 156 lbs, he said, it was hard to go up against Luray when most of their guys weighed at least 235 lbs.”
“They were crushed and run over,” he added, “But they went with all their strength.”
