three business machines were the only objects which could be detected missing. The burglary was discovered by a Nancy Jones , who was turning around in the parking lot about 9:30 Sunday morning. Entry to the building was gained through a side window at the rear of the structure and more of the window was broken out to allow the vandals to exit with their loot, a 3M copying machine, a postage meter and a typewriter. All of these articles were found Monday in the vicinity of Rappahannock County High School. They were positively identified by Emory Russell, the cashier, and were sent to the F.B.I. laboratory for prints. In addition to local authorities who responded, an agent of the F.B.I. was sent from the Winchester office, as well as a state investigator.

School census shows drop in students The recently completed school census shows a continued decline in the number of school aged children in Rappahannock, a trend that was evident in the U.S. censuses for 1970 and 1980. However, the number of those 19-years-old and under counted by the school enumerators this year, 1,222, falls short of the 1,801 in the same age range counted by U.S. census takers six years ago.
