peripheral stem cell transplant. They told her they couldn’t do it because her heart was too weak from all the chemotherapy she had received. She told them to go ahead and do the treatment any way. She said she would just as soon die from heart failure as lymphoma, but they told her they would not do it. She was a fighter, though, and didn’t give up. She went to MCV and they agreed to do the peripheral stem cell transplant there. It worked and she was in remission since 1994.
Other than a weakened heart, her health was pretty decent as she watched her grandchildren grow up. On the days that I worked, I never had to hire a baby-sitter. She
