Rappahannock News PtmaAicMsm Inn at little Washington celebrations begin ^
2008 marks 30 years
There's an unusual and first time event happening at The Inn at Little Washington starting this month. Chef and Proprietor Patrick O’Connell and his staff are hoping that many people in the region will be able to take advantage of this opportunity and visit the Inn during this three-week period.
As part of their 30-year anniversary celebrations, The Inn will give each of its dinner guests a $30 gift certificate and a glass of Oom Ferignon. This three-week offer will begin on Sunday, January 20,2008 and will end on Friday, February 8,2008. These gift certificates may be redeemed immediately or anytime during the next year. (This offer is not available on Saturday.)
“We’re looking forward to welcoming old friends and new acquaintances who want to come and celebrate this joyous milestone with us,* said O'Connell. “We’ve never done anything like this before, but thought it would be a nice gesture to show our appreciation to the people who have supported us for the last three decades and to introduce The Inn to those who’ve not yet been here.”
A gala dinner is planned on April 9 in Washington, D.C. at tile Mellon Auditorium to officially mark the occasion. (Tickets for this event will be available beginning February 1 through The Inn’s reservations department at 540-675-3800.)
That evening they will premiere a film produced by The Inn celebrating America’s culinary evolution over the last 30 years. The presentation will feature many of the individuals who were pioneers of that movement including Julia Child, James Beard, Craig Claiborne and many others.
