Hundred and Fifty Years, Somewhat Organized Beer Tasting,” was jovially led by Peter Bracken and Andy Thompson on Friday night. They introduced six domestic and imported beers that ranged from light ale to a very rich stout. Breweries represented were from Germany, Belgium, Virginia and California. Andy hopes to make this a regular event. This was a fun gathering to learn of the wide range of micro-beers, imports and specialty beers the store carries.

I will be away for several days when our daughter Catherine gives birth to her third child. The anticipated joy of that event will also take me away from information for the Sperryville column.
