William C. Potter

William C. Bill' Potter of Amissville, Va., died March 20, 2009, at Sitter and Barfoot Veterans Care Center, Richmond, Va. He was born Jan. 31, 1936, in Leslie, Cia., to John Weslev and Verlin Potter. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and retired after 20 years of service. Mr. Potter then went to work for RCA and later Goddard Space Center, Greenbelt, Md., retiring after 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Potter. Survivors include his mother, Verlin Potter of Americus, Ga.; his wife, Violet C. Potter of Amissville; his sons, William T. Potter of Laurel, Md., Lawrence L. Potter of Culpeper. Va., Lester A. Potter of Delaplane, Va., and Stewart L Potter of Hanover, Md.; and 19 grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, lames 1. Potter of Florida and LamaT Potter of Georgia. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 26, Interment will be in Culpeper National Cemetery'.
