on one- time expenses that are needed - facilities repairs and upgrades - rather than increasing the operating budget based on a one-time infusion of funds (the stimulus money.)

Tom Junk (Concerned Taxpayers) and Roger Cordam, of Flint Hill, both commended Chappell on reducing the budget, but asked that the School Board do more citing tough economic times.

Saying he has lived in the county for 25 years and has been coming to the School Board meetings for 20, Junk said, “You haven’t listened to me all that time, you probably won’t listen tonight." He asked that the school board cut teacher positions.

“Dr. Chappell is moving in the right direction,” he said, “but we still have too many teachers."
