Faced with diminishing sales tax funding from the state, Chappell has solicited support any way he can to get people with influence to call Gov. Tim Kaine and urge him to select Rappahannock as a recipient of the federal money.
Chappell talked with Congressman Eric Cantor (R7th) on March 3, but was told that once the money is in state hands, there was not much his office could do to direct where it went.
