As one who knows first hand the value of hospice care. Postmaster Linda Butler of Washington joined Hospice of the Rapidan in welcoming the newr hospice care commemorative stamp recently issued by the U.S. Pbstal Service. Mrs. Butler’s brother-in-law, Samuel Wayne Butler, died in the care of Hospice of the Rapidan on Feb. 15,1997. For Geneva Welch, creating art has been a way of life for the past 25 years. She lives on a farm near Flint Hill with her husband Roger, a Rappahannock County native who serves as Wakefield District supervisor, and much of what she paints is a celebration of country life. Many- of her works can be found locally, but her paintings have gained national attention as well. And she has had approximately 10 prints that appear in the Faith Mountain Company catalog. Two Rappahannock County residents, construction inspector Charles R. Whorton and maintenance crew member Ronald L. Parker, were honored recently in recognition of their 20 years of service with the Virginia Department of Transportation.
