In a stuffy courtroom in front of 30 people on Monday, the normally inexcitable Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors' meeting turned contentious at times, skipping expected controversy, replacing it with others, and ending with some unexpected surprises.
The busy session included:
• The approval for the formation of an Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC >;
• A surprise announcement that BOS Chairman Bob Anderson would not seek re-election in November;
• A vote to not ratify a purchase contract for Peter Kramer’s Washington Arts Building;
• Authorization for County Attorney Peter Luke to prosecute a local business - the Hillsdale Country Store - for allegedly not filing meals and lodging tax returns for the past two years;
• A scolding by Supervisor Ron
