Girl Scout Troop 380 of Rappahannock County has been working for a merit badge on “My Community” and was required to visit a newspaper office, TV or radio station, so they arranged a visit to the Rappahannock News last Thursday. They saw an old flatbed press which printed from “hot-type.” Viewing the old press are Susan Kindred, Sue Htchenell, Dorothy Walter, Rhonda Brown, Rae Rector, Gisele Summers, Seneca Gatewood, Peggy Scroggins, Anne Stokes, Paula St. Clair, Sue Foster, Barbara Foster and Wanda Jett. They were accompanied by Mrs. A. Y. Stokes, scout leader. The powerful pitching of Floyd Grigsby kept the Elks from scoring over two runs as the Rappahannock Panthers racked up five big scores when the two teams clashed last Friday afternoon in Elkton. Mrs. W. H. Cordle entertained the Spenyville Bridge Club on Friday night. Those playing were Mrs. L. J. Kilby, Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Jr., Mrs. Roy Reeve, Mrs. R. E. Patzig, Mrs. R. E. Wood, Mrs. Mary M Quaintance, Mrs. Edward Haggerty. Mrs. Cosie Sullivan. Mrs. Quaintance was high score, Mrs. Reeve second high, and Mrs. Kilby won Bingo.
