The artists of the ONE/OFF pnntmaking group are returning tomorrow to the Middle Street Gallery to display their contemporary prints, following four well-received shows there since 2001
The ONE/OFF Pnntniakers Show will he at the gallery from July 3 through July 26 with an artists' reception on Sunday, July 12, from 2-4 pm.
“Visitors to the Middle Street Gallery show will have a chance to see a wide range of imagery and pnntmaking techniques," said ONE/OFF member, Mary Holland, director of the Studio School of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
The prints that will be on display include relief, intaglio, screen printing, lithography, monotype, digital and some combinations, she said.
The group celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2008 with a large exhibition at the VMFA Studio School during the national Southern Graphics Council Conference held in Richmond and sponsored by Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Fainting and Printmaking, according to Holland
The Virginia-based group was organized in 1983 with the intention of introducing the expressive possibilities of various print media to a broader audience. Many of the artists are teachers at such Virginia institutions as Virginia Commonwealth University. The VMFA Studio School, Sweet Briar College.
