The RAAC Talent Showcase held last Saturday filled the Gay Street Theater with audience and a wealth of talent. The spirit of community on the stage and in the house created an atmosphere that was relaxed and festive, an ideal medium for the performers and hosts Kevin Day and David Konick to feel equally relaxed and festive about their presentations. Marie Davis gave a strong opening to the showcase with her rendition of “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” from “Dream Girls.’ Her performance demonstrated not only the rich quality of her voice, but also a strong musical sense for the flavor of the piece and the spirit in which it is best presented.
