Shannon echoed those sentiments when he said that he believes, “the Attorney General has to serve as the top law enforcement officer for Virginia.
“The Attorney General is the advocate for citizens and Virginia businesses,” he added, after the discussion veered over to the issue of Dominion Power’s approved power line running through the most scenic areas of Piedmont Virginia, and the much higher rates that many people experienced this winter.
On the power line, he said, “That’s still an undecided issue,” but a complicated one, he acknowledged.
He also said that it’s the attorney general’s responsibility to appear before the State Corporation Commission on these issues.
It is the responsibility of the attorney general, “to make sure the office is advocating for the customer,” said Shannon.
