The Department of Mental Health. Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services currently seeking qualified applicants for FT Prevention Specialist to provide services to the community for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Prevention and Intervention Services. Position responsible for the following; community-based tobacco prevention services to high-risk youth & their families, grant management. program evaluation, and program budget management. Will collaborate with other agencies/coalitions to ensure community prevention programming addresses high risk behaviors & promotes the development of protective factors. Must possess strong organizational skills, have experience in public speaking and co-leading groups, and ability to function effectively in an interagency and collaborative capacity. Position could involve activities in a recreational setting. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor s degree in social work, psychology. counseling or related field, and a minimum of two years related experience. Must be knowledgeable in evidence-based substance abuse programs and experience working with high risk youth. Masters degree preferred. Kmployment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, driving record check, and TB test. Must have a valid driver s license.
