They envision a system whereby producers log on early in the week with a list of what's growing in their fields or on their trees. Later in the week, consumers will be able to log on and shop the site, ordering what they want and paying via credit card online.
Child and Williamson are in the final stages of securing a hub site that will serve as a weekly pick-up point for customers. Growers will show up with the quantities ordered and shoppers will stop by during the designated time to pick up their purchases.
