Family Abuse Officer
Loudoun County Juvenile Court Service Unit currently seeking apps for FT position as Family Abuse Officer. Must have knowledge of principles, objectives. & techniques of counseling adults/families in crisis, particularly as related to domestic violence, legal actions. Must have knowledge of criminal justice system, including court proceedings; ability to interpret/apply federal, state, local policies, procedures, regulations, guidelines and statutes, & identify/use community resources, agency services. Duties include (but not limited to): screening, assessing and issuing Family Abuse petitions/ requests for Preliminary Protective Orders; supervise, monitor and track all Preliminary arid Permanent Protective Orders, and represent the JCSU on a domestic violence multi-agency team. Requires any combination of education and experience equal to Bachelors degree from accredited college/university in sociology, psychology, criminal justice, family or adult counseling, administration of justice or related field and 3 years related professional-level experience. Experience working with adult domestic violence offenders/victims highly preferred. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Valid Driver's License. Subject to call for domestic violence activities and incidents requiring domestic violence responses or initiatives.
