The Rappahannock service unit, which includes 114 Girl Scouts, has won “The Skyline’s the Limit” public relations award from Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Council.
From October 1 of last year through May 1 of this year, the council challenged Girl Scouts in its 36-county area to band with other troops in their service units and promote activities, accomplishments and events related to Girl Scouting as well as the benefits it provides to girls of today.
The Rappahannock service unit was recognized for having the best coverage of Girl Scout service projects in the media. Kathy Thornhill, troop leader of Girl Scout Troop 628 of Boston, coordinated the contest entry.
