Ellen Mustoe, Washington, has served on the Board of Trustees at HopeTree Family Services in Salem, formerly the Virginia Baptist Children’s Home and Family Sernas, for the past six years. HopeTree provides residential, educational, independent living and adoption services for at-risk children and youth, primarily at the Salem, Va, campus, and residential services for develppmentally-challenged adults in several cottage homes located across the state
HopeTree's new education center will be dedicated on Sept. 11. It will have classrooms for academic programs and vocational training and will contain the campus dining hall.
As a former social worker and juvenile probation and parole officer, Ellen maintains a interest in the welfare of children and youth. The English classroom at the new school has been named in honor and memory of her parents, Kenneth and Elizabeth Woolfolk Mustoe.
