At Mt. Prospect a delightful breakfast awaited the fine company of the day. The dining table was centered with an elaborate three-tiered cake, presented for the occasion 'by Mrs. J. Armistead Lewis. Mrs. Lewis had exhibited hfer excellent taste in making the cake appropriate, atop the cake was a pink-coated hunter, the top tier represented Rappahannock Hunt, the second tier the guests, and the base tier was decorated with cherries in honor of the day—Washington’s birthday. . \
The dampness of the day was nowhere reflected in the jovial spirits of the hunt and breakfast. Col. Hinkley insisted upon telling how his wife learned to read at the age of 27 and then avowed that she had never worn shoes until after she was married. Mrs. Hinkley was adequate to the situation and retaliated with stories to match, that turned the tables s<on the Colonel. One of the prise pieces of entertainment was the narration of the momentous day when Captain Greton wrote a new page in English Naval history by becoming the first captain to take a British ship to sea in foil hunting regalia. --
Mayor W. F. Moffett, Jr., on behalf of Rappahannock Hunt, presented a gift, a bottle of perfume, to Mrs. W. A. Miller as a token of appreciation for her hospitality, which helped make the, occasion so delightful.V’ Jp.v*
