Flint Hill Students Give
Historic Program, WFTR
The students "of the Flint Hill Element;/y School presented a successful historic program over radio station WFTR at 8:00 on last Thursday at which time they dramatized important events in the lives of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, the two historic characters whose birthdays are celebrated in the month of February.
Lelia Gentry . recited script pertaining to events leading to the nomination of George Washington and his inauguration as the first president of the United States. George Washington was sworn in as first president by the chancellor Jimmy Lillard. Lincoln’s Gettysburg address was given by Jimmy Yates. Galley Smith was the narrator and Lelia Gentry the announcer.
Mrs. Kathryn Cahen led the group in the singing of patriotic songs, “America,’’ "George Washington,” “The Tlag Song,” a marching song1, “Pledge Allegiance To The Flag,” The musical Version of the program was concluded with ithe singing of “America The Beautiful.”
