‘Crosby Day' Will Feature
World Premiere of
“Rising High”
The people of Rappahannock have been extended an invitation to help in the welcoming by this section of Virginia to Bing Crosby at Front Royal Saturday.
Here as the guest of Senator Raymond A. Guest, Bing Crosby will be present at the dedication of the “Bing Crosby Stadium’’ and for many other appearances during the day, including the premiere of his latest movie, “Riding High,” at Park Theatre Saturday evening.
The parade, with 97 units, will begin at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, starting at the railroad station and proceeding up Maim street to the stop-light, and, turning right, will continue north on Royal Avenue (toward Winchester) until it turns directly to the stadium.
Reported to be the largest unrehearsed parade ever to be staged in this section of the country, the bands, floats, and visiting fire companies will form an hour-long procession. Bing Crosby will be at the end of the parade, and if anyone gives him a wise-crack about following the example set ■by his horses in bringing up the rear, not a single native Virginian will claim the ill-mannered blackguard.
