The entire afterneon .will be given over to entertainment in the stadium. At 1 o’clock Bing Crosby will dedicate the stadium, at 2:15 there will be an exhibition of trained trick horses, at 3:15 there will be a baseball game, University of Virginia versus Front Royal.
There is an admission charge for the baseball game and for the dances at night; 7:30 to 11:30, Bing’s Barn Dance, at Warren County High School gymnasium, and 3 to 12 o’clock at TWUA Hall, Bing’s Square Dance.
Virginia’s Famous Skline Caverns will hold “open house,, from 1 o’clock in the afternoon to 6 o’clock in the eveping, with no admission charges.
A good recommended vantage point from .which to view the parade has been suggested as along Main street, and since everyone will fall into line at the end ...of.. the parade to go to the Jtadium for the dedication ceremonies, it is suggested that good substantial breakfast will be a prerequisite, or else carry a quick lunch in your pocket. - There will be plenty of time to get situated in the stadium after the parade is over.
There will be prizes for the best decorated windows in the stores of Front Roval. Additional prizes are being offered for floats and units in tlTe parade, and there will be a special cake baking contest at Warren County High School early in the morning with the winners announced at 2:30 in the afternoon.
The special matinee of “Riding High” will be shown at 3 o’clock at the Park Theatre to 550 children of Warren and surrounding counties, including Rappahannock.
The tickets for the premiere were all sent out early this week. Bids placed the seats at $5 and up, and it is understood that some of the late arrivals in the $5 class missed out.
