Hawthorne District: (Mrs. Lizzie Miller) $25.
Stonewall District: (Mrs. C. B. Johfison) $50.
Piedmont District: (Mrs. L. J. Kilby) $142.
Wakefield District: (Rev. N. J. Flythe) $37.
Hampton District: (Mrs. Dick Miller) $50.
Piedmont District has gone $42 over the goal.
W. A. Whitmer Purchases
Farm of Buck Cook
W. A. Whitmer of Manassas, was the purchaser of the farm of the late Buck Cook near Crest Hill, which was sold at public auction Saturday, March 25. All of the personal property, livestock and farm equipment sold^ at TofT prices.
The farm consisted of 148 acres of land with a six-room residence and a four-room tenant house.
The Whitmer family hope to occupy the dwelling the latter part of May, after making necessary repairs.
An unusually large crowd attended the sale.
Carroll Menefee, Jr.
Re-enlists in Air Force
Carroll Menefee, Jr., who reenlisted in the army air force, left Monday for Dockland Air Base at San Antonio, Texas. During Wo Id War II he served in the air force for two years, stationed in Mississippi and Florida.
Birth Announcement
Mr. and Mrs. T. Jackson Dennis of Arlington, are receiving congratulations on the birth of a son on Friday, March 25, at the George Washington University hospital. The baby has been named Wayne Lee. T. Jackson Dennis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Dennis of Castleton.
