Soil Saver Notes
Soil Conservation Service technician, L. B. Henretty, gave an illustrated talk on the use of lime and fertilizer in soil and water conservation, at the George Washington Carver Regional High School Tuesday night, March 28. The talk was presented for the G.I. farm training class in charge of A. C. Washington.
Technicians working in co-operation v-ith the Culpeper Soil Conservation District, work very closely with all the G.I. instructors and their classes. “Getting the young G.I. farmers started on a correct land use plan maes for a sound long time agricultural program,” says T. G. Ragsadle, Supervisor of tVp CoVener District.
Dick Loving, owner of a small farm near Culpeper, established an open ditch drainage system on "" area of bottom land this week. The land had been in a near swamp condition for several years, and war useless from an agricultural standpoint. The drained area will he seeded to a recommended pasture mixture in late summer. **
