By using aerial photos and by completely describing the type of land and improvements f>n it, a true assessment of real estate can be made. The tax assessor reports to the local board, which checks his work and goes on sufficient tracts of land to see that a fair assessment is made. The main purpose of the re-assessment is to see that all property in Rappahannock county is taxed fairly and equally. It is believed that enough property that is not taxed at all at present will be added to pay for the entire cost of the re-assessment.
