A Livestock - Agronomy School will be held in the auditorium of Sperryville School Friday, January 26, 1951.
The program will be as follows: Morning—10 o’clock. Pastures for Livestock, P. H. DeHart, Extension Agronomist, 'VPL 10:30, Marketing Your Beef Cattle, M. L. Dalton. A discussion (with movies) of the general market outlook for finished cattle and feeder calves, also a discussion of cattle grades and a review of the 1950 calf sales and prospects for them in the future. 11:30, Feed Crop Production, P. H. -DeHart.
Afternoon—1:15, Feeding and management of beef cattle, C. C. Mast, o* VPL A discussion of the beef cattle situation, cow herd management, practices that will improve the quality of feeder • calves produced and the control of parasites and diseases of cattle.
2:00, 10-point Hog Production Program, George C. Herring, - of" VPI. The topic will cover the outlook for hogs, as well as a ten point production program designed to improve the quality of hogs produced, as well as the efficiency in production of them, whether for home or market use.
2:40, Sheep Management, Geo. W. Litton, VPI, or C. C. Mast. A talk, with slides) dealing with the sheep situation, winter feeding of the flock, lambing time practices, parasites and disease control, and securing replacement ewes. Request for-60 such schools were made of the above men, so I hope the turn-out by Rappahannock farmers will fill the auditorium.
