March Of Dimes Drive

The March of Dimes drive for infantile paralysis will start in Rappahannock county Monday, January 15, ending January 31. Last year the sum raised in the county for the March of Dimes was $627.00: This year Mrs. T. C. Lea, chairman and Jock Brown, treasurer, have expressed their hope of raising $1,000 for the 1051 drive.
A square dance will be held on January 26 at the” Rappahannock High School for the drive, Vance Butler and his 'Virginia Playboys will furnish the music. Dancing: will be .from 9 til 1, so that some child may be helped to walk again. Admission $1.50.
Thursday, January 25 at 8 o’clock B. R. Armel will donate the use of Washington Theatre for a benefit movie. Miss Elizabeth Racer and William Payne will give their service to the March of Dimes Campaign; Miss Racer in the ticket office, and Mr. Payne running the machinery. Tickets may be secured from Mrs. Dike Quaintance or the children of Sperryville School; H. B. Winfrey and the children of Rappahannock High School; Robert L. Brown; Charles Wood, or children of Flint Hill School; Rappahannock News office, or Mrs. Arthur Miller; Hampton Inn; and Miss Ruth Stevens.
The theatre will seat 300 people, and it is the aim of the committee members working for the March of Dimes to see every seat filled on the night of January 25.
